Note: Effective Jan. 1, 2017, John is saying "no" to almost every new client--trying to cut back on travel (middle seats on airplanes!). But we'll pray about every inquiry.
JOHN PEARSON is a board governance and management consultant. Located in San Clemente, Calif., John and his wife, Joanne, launched John Pearson Associates, Inc. in 2006.
The consulting firm serves nonprofit Christian organizations, associations and churches with board governance training and consulting, strategic planning, CEO and senior team coaching and off-site planning retreat facilitation. With an ample rolodex (John still uses that word!), the firm is able to connect clients with a diverse team of experts in almost every nonprofit niche.
John served more than 30 years as a nonprofit ministry CEO, 25 of those years as the CEO of three national/international associations, including Willow Creek Association, Christian Camp and Conference Association, and Christian Management Association (now Christian Leadership Alliance).
He is the author of Mastering the Management Buckets: 20 Critical Competencies for Leading Your Business or Nonprofit (2008), and the co-author with Robert Hisrich, Ph.D. of Marketing Your Ministry: Ten Critical Principles (1990). His next book (Fall 2017), with co-author Dan Busby, is Lessons From the Nonprofit Boardroom.
John also writes the eNewsletter, Your Weekly Staff Meeting. Since 2006, he has reviewed more than 400 leadership and management books in his eNews.
A survivor of 21 winters in Chicago, he has not shoveled snow since 1994. He is also the grandfather of five, including triplet 14-year-olds!
