CORE COMPETENCY #10

We harness the power of hoopla! for celebration, recreation, intentional food and fellowship gatherings, and just plain fun. We thrive on knock-your-socks-off spontaneity. We believe hoopla! honors God. We budget funds for hoopla! to mitigate workplace stress and most importantly, to show our team members how much they are loved and appreciated!

RESOURCES IN THE HOOPLA! BUCKET:

DOWNLOAD: Post Dennis Bakke's Water Cooler Wisdom Posters on your team bulletin board!  Click here for a PDF of "Rule #3: Attempt to create the most fun workplace in the history of the world." (Note: you can download all 10 posters from Bakke's Joy at Work book website.) Order the book from Amazon here.

ORDER FUN BUSINESS CARDS! (See Idea #3 on page 148.)  Present your receptionist with a new title and new business cards, "Manager of First Impressions!"

ORDER THE BOOKS (below) and document your diligence by dripping your favorite ice cream on a few pages!  (Attn: Managers! Staff meetings at Baskin-Robbins are rarely skipped!)

DELEGATE YOUR READING! Ask team members to select a book from this bucket and share a book review at your next staff meeting. See the Book Bucket for more ideas on why "Leaders Are Readers." For a complete list of books from this bucket, visit the Book Bucket and download List #1 (with books reviewed through Dec. 31 of last year).
